Xeomin is a wonderful new product offered here at The Womens Health Institute and one of the few clinics in the country to offer it! Xeomin has no additives, which makes it a more purer alternative to Botox. The effects are typically felt in about a couple of days as they have a smaller molecular weight and last anywhere from three to six months, just like Botox. Xeomin is also used primarily used for frown lines, crow's feet and forehead lines. As it does not need to be refrigerated, the cost is lower for storage and shipment.

Botox® is a purified protein that blocks the transmission of certain chemicals across nerve endings, thus blocking the messages sent from nerves to muscles. This substance has been used to safely decrease the appearance of facial wrinkles for over 20 years.

It is available in injectable form and is most commonly used to treat frown lines, crow's feet, and forehead lines.

One Botox® treatment can last up to 4 months, although repeated injections are required to maintain the effect of the medication. At our office, Botox® is sold for $11/unit. We do our best to disclose to our patients the projected amount of Botox(R) needed to adequately treat the desired area before starting the injections. On average, most patients require 20-25 units to treat any given area. Do always ask about any specials we may be running on our Botox® treatments.

Most people start to see an effect two to seven days after the injection. You will start to notice a more relaxed and refreshed appearance to your skin. At The Women's Health Institute, we want our patients to maintain a natural appearance, not a "frozen" look. Less can sometimes mean more when it comes to treatment with Botox®.
